Our Town

Here's a link to an article about Dahlonega, GA - our new town. Hopefully this link will work this time!

Beach trip

What a contrast between our St. Simons beach trip last week and the last time we went to the beach! It was two springs ago at Pacific Beach in WA. Man was it cold! This past week was so relaxing. We camped out with Beth, Rachel, Jessica, Alexis, and Eden near St. Simons and Jekyll Islands. The beach was a little cool, but still bathing suit weather. We all got a tiny bit tan and had a fun time. After loading the pics to the computer, I am ashamed to say I never got any pictures of us actually at the beach or playing in the ocean. But we did spend two afternoon there, and the kids love playing in the waves and the sand. We spent one morning in downtown St Simons - a very cute town with nice shops, a wonderful playground, lighthouse, park, pier, etc. There is also a picture of Katya going down the slide with Fergie - her favorite puppy. I can't wait to go to Myrtle Beach this summer! Oh, and one of the pics is of Katya licking her feet. The kids loved licking their bodies after playing in the ocean!

Playing dress up

What is it about dressing up that is so fun? I guess it's really fun to pretend to be something or someone else for a while. We all know Katya loves living in her own fairy tale world, aka Katya-land. But now, Jack is getting into it. Making animal sounds and learning lots of animal names. Even trying on hats and olives is fun for all! Try it sometime...Oh yeah, and Katya is learning to ride a bike! We got this bike at Good Will for $5 - man I love thrift stores! - before we left WA. Scott got some training wheels and put them on and voila!

Fun with cousins

One of the greatest blessings of moving back to Georgia is the time all the cousins get to spend together. We have gone to two of Rachel and Jessica's track meets and will go to their regional meet this Friday. The kids also spent the weekend with cousins at the Mildenhall's for General Conference. Here are some cute pics of cousins together. And yes, Pasha does count as a cousin.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a beautiful Easter season this year. It is so nice being back in the South where everyone knows the importance of Easter and celebrates it! Katya made resurrection eggs at school and told us all the story of the last week and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They had an Easter egg hunt at school. Grandma Mildenhall and Jack joined her for that. We also had an egg hunt and joint b-day party for Scott and Taylor at G and G Mildenhall's house on Saturday before Easter. There are several pics of all the grandkids and some of their neighbors. We drove to Helen for Easter dinner with G and G Perry on Sunday. More Easter pics of Katya in her new dress to come soon.

Our new home!!!

We finally moved in to our new home on March 3. Of course I don't have any good pictures of us standing outside our new home yet, but they will come. Here are some pics of G and G Mildenhall playing in our new playroom in the basement and of Scott's birthday party on the 15th. His birthday is St. Patty's day. Explains a lot, doesn't it.

Skylake Hike

Beth, Rachel, Jessica, Alexis and Eden came up for a visit when we were staying with Mom and Dad. Here are some cute pictures from a hike we took one afternoon.

Lila and Garrett

Our good friends Lila and Garrett Watts from Virginia, visited their family in Alpharetta and we drove down to see them. Their family just lives about 20 minutes from G and G Mildenhall and Lila does some work with Kimberly Clark, the company Grandpa Mildenhall works for. Small world! The kids had a great time with Uncle Garrett, and we all enjoyed catching up. See you guys again soon! I don't have any pictures, but the night before this we went to a Johnny Cash cover band concert with Grandpa Perry and took Katya. She was so excited and in heaven. She had permagrin the whole time we were there, and she danced on my lap the whole time. After intermission she fell right to sleep and slept through the whole 2nd half!

KATYA'S FIRST DRAMA CLASS

First of all, it is ridiculous how long it has been since I've updated our blog. I have quite a bit of catching up to do. Katya has been taking a drama class this spring at the local theater in Dahlonega. She loves it. Here she is on her first day of class when everyone dressed up. Her debut performance is the 1st week of May.
