I coulda' been a contender

Much like his sister, Jack loves baths, but what he loves more than that are his new diapers. Rebekah really likes them because of the economical and environmentally friendly features. Scott likes them because they have a Polyurethane laminated nylon shell (like Gore-Tex), making them waterproof, and a 100% Polyester microfleece lining, making them comfortable, durable, and wick away moisture like Arizona, keeping those cute buns dry and comfy. As much as I hate product plugging, I feel that some are valid, these being one.

Freedom Frey

So we had a visit from international superstar, Adam Frey last weekend. We went out to eat downtown in Seattle at the famous Ivar's restraint. Adam just got done recording his third solo album in New Zealand, and had a gig in Victoria, BC with a layover in Seattle for about 5 hours, so in cam Scott and Rebekah to the rescue, and clam chowder. It was good eatin' and good times all around, here's a clip.

You calling me a Ferry?

All aboard the ferry to Seattle. We took Katya and Jack to the Seattle Aquarium, and Katya seems to be the only one looking at the camera in this picture. Our good friend Amy Tait accompanied us and joined us for ice cream afterwards, now, more pics from that adventure:

It can be boring on the ferry.. and itchy.

Katya had not had a nap at this point and it had been a long day, in short, she went crazy. There were roughly 50-1,000 kids in this underwater globe observatory and it was stimulation overload for her. She is just making noise here, but is happy.

I am the pride of Daddy

Since only 6% of the population of this planet speaks Italian, the bib on Jack says " I am the pride of Daddy" more or less. In the world of relativity, our best point of reference for child sizes is Katya, and being in the fifth percentile for the majority of her life, I am afraid that our petite beauty make Jack look like a behemoth boy of bodacious bounding brilliance! I ,believe it or not, was a chunky 6 month old as well, despite my current stature (still taller than Taylor). I never earned a bib, t-shirt, or any sort of paraphernalia that hinted to being my father's pride and joy, still working on that one in fact. Thanks to an assertive brother and overly talented sister-in-law (who happens to speak Italian-o) Jack has this badge as evidence of my joy received from him. So thank you Katie and Briant. Katya, on the other hand, is trying hard to impress, though I fear she has given up on trying to impress her father, and turned to impressing everyone else but me... cursed potty. She has taken a real interest in painting though, and I am delighted in this. Notice in the picture that she is using the Chinese traditional brush technique. Both children are happiest out of doors and in the messiest array possible. I have happily become a sapp, we couldn't be happier with what we have; hope the same for you all.

Furthering our mediability

So here is the first, and potentially the last video installment of the SRM blog. We have some exciting times lined up here: Scott's birthday, Taylor's birthday (it's not the right size though), vacationing with Beth, Rachel, and Jessica in California, and ending up with my parents coming for a bit. Jam packed! We just took Katya to the Seattle aquarium, and met our good friend and international superstar, Adam Frey the next day in Seattle as he had a 4 hour lay over. That along with camping and hiking mixed in, we have kept ourselves well entertained. The weather had been phenomenal, albeit a bit chilly. So we are happy, and Rebekah is working nights, things could be a lot worse. The video included in this blog is of my brother Robert and sister - in - law Brianna's Kids. I have seen some funny things in my day, and maybe it was the 5 pulled Pork sandwiches I ate that night, but this cracks me up every time I see it. This was done last December, right before I was to be reunited with my fantastic family, enjoy.
