I have recently tried to refrain myself from recommending
music without the request from others, but there are circumstances that warrant such invasions of the personal realm of musical taste (i.e. the beachboys, radiohead, and to a much lesser extent new order). As the circumstances being such now, I recommend a quirky little group call
"Beirut". They have a very mellow international quality; while those adjectives may not seem to coincide well together, I think they describe the music with a modest, nonplussed, albeit accurate, description. Despite my comma splices, please take a
listen, and let me know what y'all think. I think it is appealing to everyone of all ages, maybe because of the prolific use of the ever-underrated accordion, but that's just my opinion.
