Home, sweet home
Thursday, Mom, Dad, Rachel and Jessica left for their drive to MS and then to TX. Our family drove through North Georgia trying to figure out where we thought we'd like to live in two years. We decided on Dahlonega pretty quickly and are super excited about moving there. We also drove up to Blairsville and Blue Ridge and Ellijay where I had never been before. Blue Ridge is so cute. I recommend it for a day or weekend trip for any of you who live in the area. It's like what we all wish Gatlinburg would be. We headed to the Mildenhall's after that and had another birthday dinner for Katya! www.dahlonega.org
GOOOO DAWGS! SIC 'EM! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!

We drove over to Athens on Tuesday and saw Briant and Katie's cute new house. It's in such a great neighborhood and has a huge backyard with a great deck. We are very happy for them. We drove through a couple of neighborhoods and saw the new park on the Eastside where we used to live. Then we drove downtown and met B and K and Robert and Bree and family at The Grit - I still can't believe Robert eats at a vegetarian restaurant! It was delicious as always and we even had some vegan dessert - Scott and I shared some chocolate cake and Sadie got the Key Lime pie. She would make her Grandpa proud! He mom said she'd help her eat it, but I don't think she got the chance. We drove up through Gainesville to check it out on our way to the Perry house in Skylake. We arrived to Mom and Dad trying to install their new dart board. We went swimming and played games that night. The next day was Katya's birthday celebration. We went swimming, canoeing, watched movies, played games, made her birthday cake, and had a party. She opened presents and was so excited all day! She loved seeing Rachel and Jessica so much.
Farm livin' is the life for me!

Monday we drove over to Paws Atlanta where Beth does spay/neuters/etc once a week. Katya got a kick out of the kitty room especially. Kittens are much more open to toddlers playing with them than any other pet! She cried when we had to leave the kitties and Aunt Beth. We stopped by Bruster's on the way to Beth's farm to pick up an ice cream cake for Mom's birthday celebration. Beth's house is looking very beautiful with all the new things she's doing. We all played in the pool - even Papa - who apparently has been swimming quite often lately. Then we had a delicious dinner of grilled salmon made by Will and fruit salad with fresh blueberries from Beth's garden. We sat out by the pool after the big thunderstorm blew through. Mom and Katya opened birthday presents and Dad opened his father's day presents - including a new dart board for their game room. We all spent the night there and Beth and Rachel and Jessica broke in their new huge RV! We also saw the new puppies and toured around Beth's improved spay/neuter clinic on her farm and saw the new puppy kennels. We saw 3 foster dogs we liked and Scott tried really hard to convince me to adopt one.
Mildenhall reunion

We were able to go to Georgia in June and had a blast. The first day we went swimming, even long lost Rob Holman joined us. We also went to the temple that night with Nick! Taylor flew in late that night and the boys stayed up late talking and playing. We had a reunion with Scott's family at the Mildenhall's. We got to meet new baby Kamdyn and went to a park and cooked out and played games. Then we went swimming and to the church building for more games, a play put on by the kids and uncles, some pretzel-making and dinner. After a long sleepless night, Jack and I stayed home from church so he could sleep. We had lunch with everyone and they went their separate ways. It was so nice to all be together. That hasn't happened since we moved from GA - 4 years ago! Oh yeah... and Scott and Robert had a facial hair contest.
